Josh and Sara,
It’s hard to believe a decade has gone by! Our wee little babe is on the cusp of
becoming a young woman. Another 10 years
and she’ll likely be on her own, perhaps even with near-term dreams of starting
her own family.
You’ll see a number of pictures this past year from a trip
Sharon took with Jenna, Olivia, and Sharon’s mom to visit extended family in
Florida. (They timed the trip well—heading
out in February when we were still in the grasp of Iowa winter.) There was also an August trip to Chicago and
one earlier in the summer to Dallas and Houston.
Things you won't see in the video are that she is still progressing on violin and continues to take piano lessons. She can be little sneaky when she wants to read a good book and will suddenly disappear sometimes to a cozy corner in the house. She really loves our two cats, but more especially our orange kitty named April, seen in the video. She still loves baking, and she made her birthday cake this year (with a small assist from mom with the oven). She and Jenna both love singing. Most recently, they've been singing over and over the music from Bye Bye Birdie, the middle school musical that Jenna is apart of. Olivia is learning parts from the script to help Jenna memorize her lines. Jenna was shocked when Olivia practically had the supporting lines memorized the first day!
When she is not practicing her music or reading she loves playing with friends. She's fortunate to have a best friend who lives around the corner from us.
A few of the pictures we might have liked to include we
weren’t able to because they include a foster son who’s with us right now. If we have the opportunity to adopt him, you’ll
probably see him in next year’s file.
We hope your family is well. We had a very tender moment with her tonight as we talked about you. We all are grateful Olivia is here to be our sweetheart; she is, too! May all the Lord’s
blessing rain down upon you.
