Happy Father's Day

Hello, hello, and happy Father's Day, Josh! We've had a pretty exciting month since Mother's Day. In the month of May, the girls and I were preparing for recital at the dance studio. The recital is a huge production that they perform at the very large university theater here. Olivia and Jenna were part of the production that was based on "The Little Mermaid." Olivia got to wear a white tutu and a cute chef's hat (that I didn't get a picture of!) and a sweet little bridal veil. She was in two scenes and the finale. The first scene with their chef hat was their tap dance when the Chef chases the Aerial's crab friend(I forget his name). Then she was in a ballet number wearing her veil towards the end when Aerial and Eric fall in and decide to get married. 

What made life really exciting was that our family was joined by a fifth during that month! We have a new foster son in the family. I can't say much here on the blog, but we will very likely be able to adopt him. We weren't expecting his arrival, and were surprised late last month when the call came. He is now two months old and doing quite well. His arrival did make life very crazy as we were finishing up preparations for recital, but we survived and now we're getting into the swing of life with five. Olivia and the others truly love him. She does all she can to get him to look at her. She really wants him to smile at her, but for now he spends most of his time looking at us with perplexed expressions, and occasional smiles. We will share more when we can.

We are grateful for the love you have for Olivia and for the amazing choice you and Sara made for her to be placed with our family. We couldn't imagine life without her sweetness! We hope you enjoy these cute pics from the recital. I think they give a glimpse of what she will look like when she's older. (Oh, and it took a lot of hairspray to get her hair pulled back into an itty, bitty bun! She has some length in the back, but the top is still pretty short. These days, I usually pull the top part into a small hairband, and let the back air dry into soft curls.)
