Olivia is at the stage where it is very apparent that she is a little sponge absorbing everything around her. Sometime she will surprise us with things she says or knows, and we will wonder where she picked it up. She is very observant! We have been trying to use this to our advantage as we teach her the alphabet. So far we have discovered that for a reward (of an Oreo cookie) she will eagerly learn a new letter! So far she definitely knows M (just about every letter starts out as M in her mind, although if you ask her to point to M she will correctly identify it), K, O, T, J, B, X, and S she calls "snake." She's learning!
After we collected gifts for Christmas and her Birthday, we realized that we had an alphabet theme going. She got an ABC book, ABC puzzle, and two alphabet magnetic leapfrog refrigerator games. She did get a few other things, too, like a couple dress up dresses (one of them a cheerleading outfit - very cute), and a slide that is in the playroom. Oh, and she got an umbrella that matches her sisters because she kept stealing Jenna's in attempt to make her chase her. So now they are running around the house pretending it's raining. We won't be seeing any rain any time soon, so maybe I will have to let them play with them when it's snowing!
We are covered in a blanket of snow that I am sure will not melt until the end of winter. We have between 6 and 12 inches of snow in our yard, and the snow piles in town where the plows have been are as high as 14 feet! The girls love the snow and seem to be immune to the cold when they go to play. (As for me I just bought a new coat that is rated to -20! :)
